What’s In It for You: Why Is It worth Visiting Events?

When thinking about the sort of things that you can do at an event, people tend to wonder: what’s in it for them? This is one question that we ask, too. Let’s find some answers, shall we?

When we think of events, we automatically try to think of things that make attendance worth the effort of going and worth the cost of a ticket. Here are some pretty good reasons for us:

Education

Usually, a lot of events have booths and panels that aim to inform and educate attendees about their subject. For example, if you attend a local market’s event, you’ll get treated to a stellar conversation about the things that local markets can do for the community and vice versa.

We have found that learning more about new things is a wonderful way to pass the time and get entertained.

Exclusives

When you attend conventions like Blizzard’s, you won’t just be treated to a plethora of new videos and news about newer video games (and updates on old games) but you’ll also get exclusive things. Blizzard likes to give away a loot bag which has a lot of merchandize that you can’t get anywhere else.

Our personal favorite would be the tankard that they give to certain guests.

Networking

When you go to an event whether for work of for entertainment, you will always come across people who share the same interests or are trying to learn more like you. This is something that can be worth its weight in gold.

The people that you can become connected with can become really good friends for more than just the event itself.

We have found that going to events, ones that are clear with what’s to be expected, can be really worth it. It doesn’t matter how many people show up or how uncomfortable the long wait in line is, the things that you can learn and obtain there are definitely worth it. What are your thoughts about this? What do you think people have to gain from attending events?
